The Derek Hilton Memorial Cup

The Derek Hilton Memorial Cup presented by the Hilton family, in memory of Derek Hilton who passed in 2005 - Former Musical Director of Britain's Granada Television

The Derek Hilton Trophy is awarded to the band member of the year, as voted for by the playing membership of Besses Boys' Band.

The trophy was consolidated to include the winners of The Sandra Powell Memorial Trophy for bandsman of the year following repurposing of that trophy in 2016.

The Sandra Powell Memorial Trophy

The Sandra Powell Memorial Trophy was presented to Besses Boys’ Band in 2001 by former Musical Director, John Powell in memory of his late Sister.

The trophy was repurposed in 2016 following a consolidation of the bandsperson of the year awards. Since 2016 The Sandra Powell Memorial Trophy is presented annually by the Musical Director to the best section of Besses Boys' Band.
